The 2019-2020 season is lining up to be an exciting, unpredictable year for Chelsea FC. It will surely keep bettors and bookies on their toes. After finishing the 2018-2019 campaign in third place, behind Liverpool and Manchester City, the Blues will be aiming to beat out England’s two juggernauts this season. Chelsea fans and players alike will also be looking forward to August 29 in Monaco where they will find out who Chelsea has drawn in the Champions League group stage matches.
The New Manager
Chelsea has a newly appointed manager in Frank Lampard. Lampard, of course, is a Chelsea legend who scored 147 goals in 429 appearances between the years 2001 and 2014. He finished his career in 2016 with New York City FC. Lampard has one year of managerial experience under his belt. He managed Derby County FC during the 2018-2019 campaign. Lampard steered Derby into the top 6 in the English Football League Championship, but was unable to qualify for the Premier League as Aston Villa won that right by beating Derby 2-1 in the Play-Off Final. It took Derby until March 5 to really find their chemistry as a team. From August 3, 2018 to March 2, 2019 Derby only earned at least one point in just over 65 percent of their matches. Although, in the final 12 games of the season, Lampard managed Derby to 6 wins, 5 draws, and 1 loss. This could be something to take note of for bettors as it might take Lampard some time to find the right combination of players at Chelsea.
