The Arizona State Sun Devils have won three games consecutively heading into this home game with the Arizona State Wildcats at Wells Fargo Arena on Thursday night.

Arizona enters this one with a 20-6 record overall. The Wildcats had lost two straight games, but won their last outing on Saturday versus USC. Rawle Alkins led the way with a game-high 20 points while also dishing out a team-high five assists. Ayton and fellow big man Dusan Ristic combined for 34 points and 18 rebounds. Arizona shot 45 percent from three point range and 62.2 percent from the field. These two in-state rivals faced each other on Dec. 30 when Arizona came away with the victory by a score of 84-78 at home. Wildcats’ freshman center Deandre Ayton turned in a huge performance against Arizona State in the previous meeting, going for 23 points and 19 rebounds-which was a school record for most single-game boards by a UA freshman since 1974. Ayton earned Pac-12 Player of the Week honors for his performance following that head-to-head showdown with the Sun Devils. Star Junior, Allonzo Trier is averaging 20.5 points per game in his four career appearances against Arizona State, which ranks as his career scoring average against a Pac-12 opponent.

Over on the Arizona State side, they’re sitting at a 19-6 on the year. The Sun Devils have won their last three straight games, and took out UCLA on Saturday. Arizona State has been on a roller-coaster ride this season. It flirted with the nation’s No. 1 ranking following a hot start in the non-conference part of their schedule, fell completely out of the Top 25 due to a 4-6 start in Pac-12 play, and has now won three straight heading into Thursday’s matchup. The Sun Devils top scorer this year is Tra Holder with 19.3 PPG. Also in the Sun Devils‘ double-digit club are Evans (17.2 PPG) Kodi Justice (12.6 PPG) and Romeo White (11.8 PPG). Arizona State is ranked 13th in the nation in offensive efficiency and has the seventh-highest ratio of free-throws attempted to field-goals attempted.

FREE College Basketball Prediction Arizona vs. Arizona State

Arizona has been the best road team in the Pac-12 since the league grew from 10 to 12 teams prior to the 2011-12 campaign. Arizona is 3-0 in the last 3 meetings between the two teams. Arizona has been scoring pretty well as of late, even in their losses. ASU has been scoring pretty well also, at least 80 in each of their last three games. With that being said, the over is a solid play here, should be a great matchup.
