The Colorado Buffaloes and 15th ranked Arizona Wildcats will square off at the T-Mobile Arena this Thursday afternoon in the quarterfinal of the Pac-12 Men’s Tournament.

The 15th ranked Arizona Wildcats finished their regular season with an overall record of 24-7 and earned the top-seed in the Pac-12 Tournament after finishing conference play with a 14-4 record. Arizona had a rough start to their season starting off just 3-3 in their first six matchups. Despite the major distractions caused by the player payment allegations release by the FBI, Arizona has won 5 of their last 6 games. Arizona has been led by their offense this season that ranks 38th in scoring offense, 3rd in FG%, and 42nd in 3P-FG%. On the year, the Wildcats are averaging 81.1 ppg on 51.0% shooting from the field. Arizona comes in this matchup scoring 114.7 points per 100 possessions during conference play (2nd in the PAC 12), while allowing 104.5 points per 100 possessions on the defensive end of the floor (4th in the PAC 12). Arizona owns the top effective field goal percentage in the conference at 56.2 percent and the top two-point percentage at 56.1 percent. The Wildcats are great at crashing the offensive glass and getting to the charity stripe. Wildcats own an offensive rebounding rate of 34.1 percent (2nd in the PAC 12) and a free throw rate of 36.4 percent (4th in the PAC 12)

The 8-seed Colorado Buffaloes improved to 17-14 after defeating the 9-seed Arizona State Sun Devils, 97-85, last night in the first round of the PAC-12 Tournament. The Buffaloes led by a 41-37 margin at the half and pulled away after taking a 77-66 lead with 3:10 left to play in regulation. Colorado shot 53.2 % from the field and 61.9 % from three point land, which is pretty impressive. The Buffaloes enter Thurday’s game scoring 99.2 points per 100 possessions during conference play (11th in the PAC 12), while turning the ball over on 20.8 percent of their offensive possessions (12th in the PAC 12). Colorado is sub-par in efficiency  with a field goal percentage of just 49.5 percent during league play so far this year. The Buffaloes have been able to compete in games by making life tough on opposing teams inside the arc. PAC 12 teams have connected on only 46.4 % of their two-point attempts against the Buffaloes’ defense so far this season. Colorado limits their opponents to just 104.8 points per 100 possessions which is good for 5th in the PAC 12.

FREE College Basketball Prediction Arizona vs. Colorado

Arizona is far and beyond the best offense in the conference and Rawle Alkins has raised up to the go-to-guy for the Wildcats on the wing. Arizona lost to Colorado earlier this season, so I doubt the Wildcats will take them lightly coming into this matchup. The Buffaloes are coming off one of their best performances of the season but Arizona is going to be overwhelming for the Buffaloes. Take Arizona and lay the heavy points, they will get the victory and cover.
