The 1st place in the SEC Wildcats roll into Saturday's matchup with the Auburn Tigers winners of seven straight since losing to them on February 1st. Immanuel Quickley has elevated his game to another level and has eclipsed his career-high in scoring in two straight games. On the other hand, the Tigers come into the game 3-2 in their last five games. Auburn suffered two losses to Georgia and Missouri on the road before bouncing back against Ole Miss and Tennesse at home.

Kentucky is scorching opponents right now in the SEC having only two losses all year in SEC play. The Wildcats had total control against a rebuilding Texas A&M team the last time out defeating them in Texas Station 69-60. The Aggies put up a strong fight lingering around a 10 point deficit a majority of the game, but couldn't find any offense to keep up with the cats.

Every year, around late February it feels as if Kentucky starts to come into form. Coach Cal establishes a guy as the main bucket getter (Immanuel Quickley this year) and the rest of the team finds a way to fit around him. Quickley over the last three games is averaging 25.6 PPG and it's against the SEC's top defenses (LSU, Florida, Texas A&M). The Wildcats are averaging 74.64 points per contest while shooting 46.28% from the floor.

Defensively, the Wildcats rely on Ashton Hagans and Nick Richards. Nick Richards is second in the SEC in blocks with 2.2 a game while Ashton is second in the conference in steals with 1.9 per game. Kentucky is giving up just 65.43 points a game allowing opponents to shoot 38.74% from the field.

The Tigers dodged a bullet in their last matchup against Ole Miss almost blowing a lead within the final minutes before coming out on top 67-58. Austin Wiley led the team in scoring with 15 points on 5 of 9 shooting.

Auburn has struggled on the road, going 4-4 in true road games this season. They dropped back-to-back games for the first time all season last week away from home. The Tigers average 78.32 points per game this season while shooting 43.31% from the floor. On the road, their average drops a whole eight points putting up only 70.56 points per game. Samir Doughty leads the team in scoring with 16.1 PPG.

On the defensive side, Bruce Pearl needs his squad to perform better. On the road, they have an average point differential of -2.33 points per game. The Tigers surrender 70.29 points a meeting allowing opponents to shoot 41.25% from the field. Isaac Okoro is a top 3 defensive prospect in the country, but he can't keep being the only member of the team with active hands.
