Duke is in a battle for first place in the ACC as they are a half-game back of the Seminoles in the win column. The Blue Devils go to Wake Forest in search of win number 24 on the season against the Demon Deacons.

Wake Forest

The Demon Deacons are coming off a two-game skid in ACC play falling to Georgia Tech 86-79 in their last appearance. It was a rare game in which Wake Forest was actually favored to win this season, as they are in second to last place in the conference. Brandon Childress and Jahcobi Neath led the team with 16 points apiece in the loss. Wake Forest has won only one game in their last five games.

Wake averages 71.54 points a game on 42.27% from the field, which is good for 167th in the country. They are led by senior guard Brandon Childress who averages 15.0 PPG to go with his 4.5 assists. The Demon Deacons have two more double-digit scorers on the team: Olivier Sarr and Chaundee Brown. They haven't been able to kick into gear as an offense as they have struggled in conference play.

Defensively, it doesn't get much better, Danny Manning's lineup is ranked 274th in the country and is allowing 72.65 points a meeting. At home, the defense improves a bit to letting up 70.92 points a game holding opponents to shoot 42.36% from the floor. There is one bright spot on defense though, the Deacons are holding opponents to shoot less than 30% from behind the arc at home.

Duke

The Blue Devils absolutely pulverized Virginia Tech in their last game 88-64. Coach K definitely lit the team up in practice after suffering the worst loss in his regime to an unranked opponent. Cassius Stanley was dominant in the win pouring on 21 points going 5 of 7 from three. Matthew Hurt had a breakout game for Duke putting up 16 points in 24 minutes.

Coach K's squad is a top 3 team in the country on offense averaging 82.59 points a game. The Blue Devils are shooting 47.74% from the field and 35.49% from behind the arc this season. The Blue Devils have scored 115.1 points per 100 possessions for the season (8th in the NCAA) and 111.7 points per 100 possessions during conference play (1st in the ACC). Vernon Carey Jr. leads the team in scoring with 17.9 PPG.

On defense, the Blue Devils are a top 100 team in the nation giving up an average of 66.56 points a meeting. They are allowing opponents to shoot 41.29% from the floor and 29.53% from three. Tre Jones is Coach K's most pivotal defender with his on-ball attack. The Blue Devils have limited opponents to only 89.2 points per 100 possessions for the season (9th in the NCAA) and 93.4 points per 100 possessions during conference play (2nd in the ACC).
