The eighth-ranked Oregon Ducks will be back on their home court following an upset overtime win over the previously fifth ranked Michigan Wolverines. It has been a tough start to the season for the Ducks as five of their first 10 games have come against teams that were ranked in the top 25 winning three of said games. This will only be the third team the Ducks have played this season with a record below .500. Oregon is led by senior Payton Pritchard who is averaging a team-best 19.2 points per game, 5.9 assists per game, and 1.6 steals per game.
The Montana Grizzlies, on the other, will be facing just their second ranked opponent this season. Their first matchup against a ranked opponent saw them lose to the Washington Huskies 73-56 on the road. In addition to the Huskies, this will be the third game against a Pac-12 team with their first coming in a loss to Stanford. The Grizzlies have played very well as of late winning three of their last four games. However, all three wins came on their home floor while their one loss was on the road. The Grizzlies will be looking to win their first road game this season (0-4).
Montana are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games played on a Wednesday.
Montana are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games played in December.
Montana are 0-12 SU in their last 12 games against an opponent in the Pacific-12 conference.
Oregon are 18-2 ATS in their last 20 games.
Oregon are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 games this season.
Oregon are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games played in December.
The Oregon Ducks are an overwhelming to come away with a win in this game. This is Montana’s last chance to get a credible win on their resume before they start their conference schedule. Ultimately, this game will come down to the Grizzlies ability to force missed shots and create stops. Oregon ranks among the top 50 teams in the nation in FG% (41st), 3P% (12th) and total turnovers (43rd). If the Grizzlies are able to frustrate the Ducks defensively forcing misses and stops while also converting on the offensive end, their chances for an upset will increase. With that being said, Oregon will win this game and it will almost certainly be by double digits.
