These two teams will face each other for the second time this season Monday night. TCU edged out a 70-68 victory 12 days ago. OSU can’t buy a win. Losers of five straight, the Cowboys will look to stop the Horned Frogs.

TCU Horned Frogs

TCU Horned Frogs enter this game 7th in the Big 12 and on a two-game losing streak. The two losses coming against #14 Kansas and Oklahoma. TCU have split their last 10 games. The Horned Frogs are averaging 75.7 points and averaging 46 percent shooting. The defense allows 69.3 points on 42.6 percent shooting.

Last time out against Oklahoma, an offense without Lat Mayen and Kouat Noi shot just 35.4 percent from the field, the second lowest of the season, and  defensively allowed the Sooners to shoot 50 percent. JD Miller and Kendric Davis led the offense with 14 points each. After the game, TCU received news that Mayen was out for the rest of season with  a left knee injury. He was expected to be a play maker on this team but his limited play time resulted in 2.1 points and 1.2 rebounds per game.

The Horned Frogs are shooting 34.6 percent from deep and 69.7 percent from the free throw line. Kevin Samuel is fifth in rebounds per game (7.3) and second in field goal percentage (66.9) in the Big 12.

Desmond Bane is averaging 14.9 points and 2.7 assists while Kouat Noi is averaging 14.8 points and 4.6 rebounds. Alex Robinson is the third double-digit scorer and Jaylen Fisher is gets 2.4 rebounds per game. The defense allows  30.6 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 36.5 rebounds per game. The Horned Frogs are 1-5 in their last six road games.

Oklahoma State Cowboys

A team that reached the NIT quarterfinals last season, the Cowboys look very different in the worst way. Oklahoma State will look for their first win of February. The Cowboys have lost five games in a row allowing an average 75.2 points per game during the losing streak. The offense shot less than 38 percent for only 57 points in their last game, a loss to Texas.  Thomas Dziagwa was the only high point of the game dropping seven 3-pointers and scoring a career-high 23 points.

Junior forward Cameron McGriff has tried his best to keep his team in games. He has been pretty solid this season leading his team in scoring with 13.2 points per game and 7.6 rebounds. McGriff is a solid player and he will have to do most of the heavy lifting if the Cowboys plan on winning this game at home. OSU 6-6 record is respectable but the Cowboys are only 1-5 in conference play. To win, Oklahoma State will have to take advantage of TCU’s struggle to play on the road.

TCU has been hit with injuries all season long but the offense still has been pretty solid. 3-5 on the road isn’t promising and their second leading scorer Noi, is probable, but they are facing a team that is struggling and that could be just what the doctor ordered. Oklahoma State has struggled all season. the defense is underrated but that is because is seems to fall apart in the second half. TCU should have no problem controlling the Cowboys offense and if that doesn’t work, the offense should take care of the Cowboys defense.
