Free ESPN NCAA BB Picks Oregon Ducks vs Washington State Cougars
This Pac-12 matchup features two teams from who sit in the bottom half of the conference. Oregon has fared well outside of Pac-12 play but has not performed well in conference. On the other hand, Washington State has not played well all season both in conference play and out of conference. Both teams need this win badly in order to turn things around before it’s too late.
Washington State Cougars
The Washington State Cougars are 2-8 in their last ten games and they are a miserable 1-5 in conference play with their only win against California (82-59). Most of the struggles the Cougars face come from the defensive end of the court where they average 77.9 points allowed per game ranking 312th nationally in that category. In return, the Cougars offense puts up what seems to be good numbers scoring 78.5 points per contest (66th) but it is because they must put up high numbers to compensate for their poor defense. Don’t let the high offensive numbers fool you because Washington State barely has an average positive scoring margin at just .5 points. The Cougars offense is led by senior forward Robert Franks scoring 21.4 PPG and grabbing 7.8 RPG. Other than Franks, Washington State has only one other player who scores over ten points per game. They rely heavily on a couple players making them extremely dependent on those player’s production. Washington State is terrible away from Pullman starting the season 0-6 on the road. Tonight is as good a night as any to secure their first road win.
The Oregon Ducks are 5-5 in their previous ten matches and 2-4 against other PAC-12 opponents with two straight losses to Arizona State (78-64) and Washington (61-56). The Ducks offense will not blow you away ranking 237th in the nation scoring 71.2 PPG but their defense is stout allowing only 64.7 PPG which is good for a tie for 30th. Defense travels but it is even tougher to beat a good defensive team when playing in their arena. After future lottery pick Bol Bol went down with a foot injury the Ducks have had to rely on a platoon of players to get things done down the stretch. Oregon has four players averaging over 10 PPG but they are led by Payton Richard (11.8 PPG) and Louis King (11.1 PPG). Being able to trust all of their guys to get things done night in and night out should be a confidence boost for coach Dana Altman after losing Bol. The Ducks have a .667 win percentage at home going 8-4 so far this season. Oregon will be looking for that same production tonight.

ESPN NCAA BB Scores Washington State vs Oregon Ducks
The game favors Oregon heavily in basically every aspect of the game. Their great defense on their home court is a tough test for anyone especially for a team who has yet to taste a road victory this season. Washington State will have a punchers chance in this one with their explosive offense but I don’t think it will be enough tonight.
