ESPN NCAA FOOTBALL PICKS #1 Alabama Crimson Tide vs #2 Clemson Tigers
Welcome to the NCAA Football National Title game between #2 Clemson Tigers and #1 Alabama Crimson Tide. Round three of the Tigers vs the Crimson Tide is here and it should be an epic battle. Alabama won 45-40 back in 2015 and Clemson won 35-31 in 2016. As you can see, when these two teams meet, it’s a high scoring, nail-biting shootout. The Tigers will be going for their third national title, while the Crimson Tide will be going for their 18th. Both these teams are coming off solid Bowl wins to get here, where they showed off their amazing offenses and Clemson showed some brick wall defense against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. These teams are pretty evenly matched and it will be an intense atmosphere from kickoff on. Monday’s quarterbacks are Trevor Lawrence vs Tua Tagovailoa.
The Clemson Tigers are back in the National Title game and they are ready to pull off the upset against the mighty Crimson Tide. Just like Alabama, Clemson has had mostly blowout wins this season. This team also has had an extremely great defense, that has given up ten points or less in nine games this year. The Tigers had a few close games against #20 Syracuse and #19 Texas A&M, but showed how good they truly are when they beat #3 Notre Dame 30-3 to get here. In that Cotton Bowl game against the Irish, Clemson took over in the second quarter, when they scored 20 points. Trevor Lawrence went 27/39, for 327 yards, and three touchdowns. Travis Etienne had 14 carries, rushed for a total of 109 yards, and one touchdown. Justyn Ross had a big game with 6 catches, for 148 yards, and 2 touchdowns. Then the defense did the rest with 6 sacks and 1 interception. Now how can the Tigers do what they did two years ago and defeat Alabama? Back then, the Tigers overcame a 10 point deficit, going into the fourth quarter to win the game. This time around, they need to set the tone early on defense, just like Georgia did a month ago, but just finish the job in the fourth quarter.
The Alabama Crimson Tide are going for their second straight college football title and sixth since 2009. This team is hyped up every year and they always live up to expectations, and then some. The Crimson Tide have had numerous amounts of blowout wins this season and the defense had five games of giving up ten points or less. Alabama has done well against ranked teams and even got two shutouts. Now Bama can turn it up early or late in games. The only scare this team had was against Georgia. Tua Tagovailoa was out of sync most of the game and ended up getting hurt. Jalen Hurts came in and saved the day going 7/9, for 82 yards, and 1 touchdown passes. It’s nice to have amazing depth at the quarterback spot like Alabama has. They learned their lesson in the Georgia game and got off to a quick 21-0 start against Oklahoma. They will try to do the same against Clemson, but the Tigers will match them. Now Alabama beat Clemson three years ago 45-40. The game came down to a high scoring, shootout in the fourth quarter. It will be the same thing again, as both teams like to go off in the second half.

So, who will bring home the National Title? Both these schools are pretty evenly matched. The Tigers have a slightly better defense and the Crimson Tide are a tad better on offense. Both quarterbacks have amazing throwing skills, but Tagovailoa is better with his legs. These teams have numerous amounts of weapons to give the ball too as well. Finally, who ever wins this game will not only have bragging rights for the next season, but that team will be undefeated as well. The Tigers will show their claws and win 31-28.
