The PAC 12’s TEN Best Quarterbacks

Despite what some may think about the PAC 12 right now and where it's at in terms of dominance, it holds some of the best talent out there at the quarterback position. Heres the top ten QB's in the PAC 12 this year.

10. Dillon Sterling-Cole - Arizona State

Dillon Sterling-Cole won the starting spot at QB this spring for the Sun Devils over highly touted recruits like Jayden Daniels and co. Herm Edwards has a lot to do in terms of getting this team where it needs to be but Sterling-Cole is a fantastic centerpiece. You know anyone ranked above three stars coming out of Texas high school football has the potential to be huge. Week one will be only his second start as a Sun Devil despite playing in 13 games going 28 for 57 for a touchdown and four interceptions. Not the best numbers but anyone coming off the bench has jitters and it will be exciting to see how he does leading the team this season.

9. Dorian Thompson-Robinson - UCLA

Dorian Thompson-Robinson also known as "DTR" was one of the most highly skilled football players in the country coming out of the D1 factory Bishop Gorman. There couldn't be a better fit for a Chip Kelly run offense than DTR and this year, based on how things looked towards the end of last season should be productive for this Bruins offense. In 2018 Thompson-Robinson appeared in ten games completing 57.7% of his passes for 7 touchdowns and 4 pics. DTR not only excels throwing the ball but is also a decent receiver and ball carrier. He was actually placed at wide receiver for some of his high school career while Tate Martell was running the show at Bishop Gorman. Last season he rushed for 68 yards on 50 carries which isn't incredible, but let this kid loose and he will burn you.

8. Gage Gubrud - Washington State

Gage Gubrud looks to improve his already stellar resume after transferring to Washington State from Eastern Washington. No starting job is for certain but don't be surprised if this young stud gets the nod. During his 2016 campaign, Gurbrud managed to throw 48 touchdowns on 5,160 yards and only 14 picks. Not only that but he scored 5 times on the ground and picked up 606 yards aswell. Gubrud is, in fact, coming off an injury that limited him last season but looks to be healthy and ready to tear up the PAC 12.

7. Steven Montez - Colorado

The senior Steven Montez will, in fact, be returning to Colorado and finishing out college leading the Buffalo in unbelievable fashion yet again. Montez burst onto the scene in 2016 when he was sharing snaps with Sefo Liufau but still managed to throw 2,975 yards and 18 touchdowns. Fast forward to last season Montez started all 12 games throwing 19 touchdowns and 9 picks on 2,849 yards, also picking up 576 yards and 7 touchdowns on the ground his past two years. Steven Montez is the real deal and should have his greatest year yet.

6. JT Daniels - USC

The Trojans are in desperate need of some quick help after last season and JT Daniels coupled with their ridiculous receiving corps could be just what they need. As a true freshman Daniels started 11 games for the Trojans last season completing 59.5% of his throws for 2,672 yard and 14 touchdowns, the only downside was the 10 interceptions. The experience he's gained and the fact that he's going into his second season as a starter should result in better efficiency for the young gun. What you want to pay attention to is the way JT Daniels ended last season with performances like his 349 yards vs arch-rival Notre Dame. Things are looking up for the Trojan offense on paper, can they piece it together though?

5. Jacob Eason - Washington

Jacob Eason has waited his year and has been granted eligibility after leaving Georgia due to injury and Jake Fromm taking over. The starting job isn't his for certain yet, but Eason should end up as QB1. He was the highest-ranked quarterback coming out of high school in 2017 and despite struggling with control proved his potential at UGA throwing for 2,430 yards 16 touchdowns and 8 picks during his first 13 games. Eason also showed his ability to be clutch in games, for instance, the Tennessee game in 2017. Most people will remember the hail-mary that the Vols pulled off to win the game as time expired but just moments before that Eason made one of the most incredible strikes a freshman quarterback has ever made to take the lead with only a few ticks left. Jacob Eason has a once and a lifetime arm and should do damage in this conference.
