It won’t be easy for Arizona as the Washington State Cougars have been one of the hottest teams in college football. They are in first in the PAC-12 North, have won six games in a row, and are a perfect 5-0 at home. Oh yeah, they are also the number eight team in the country right now. Should be a hard fought game, with playoffs on the line. Saturday’s quarterbacks are Khalil Tate vs Gardner Minshew.
The Arizona Wildcats have won two straight games, but are 1-3 on the road. The Utah Utes should be able to wrap up the PAC-12 South division as they play the Colorado Buffaloes on Saturday, but you never know what can happen. This conference has had a lot of upsets this season and all the Wildcats can do right now is help themselves with a win . Arizona has two blowout losses to Houston and Utah. Other than that, this team has a few shellacking wins of their own and some close losses. The Wildcats have a great running game and their offense has been scoring 30 plus points lately. In their last game against Colorado, J.J. Taylor had 40 carries and rushed for 192 yards. Khalil Tate was taking care of the ball going 17/22, for 350 yards, five touchdown passes, and one interception. The Arizona defense did give up a lot of points in this shootout game, but they did sack the quarterback five times. The Wildcats need these offensive numbers and putting pressure on the quarterback if they want to shock the Cougars.
The Washington State Cougars are having a magical season and they are in a great position to win the PAC-12 North. The Cougs have had six double digit wins this year and their most impressive win came a few weeks ago when they beat the Stanford Cardinal on the road. This team watched as Washington, Stanford, Oregon, and USC were all ranked in the preseason rankings. Who had Washington State being the number eight team with two weeks to go in the season. The Cougars have the ball on their side of the field as they control their own destiny. The North division title will mostly likely be decided next week against their division rival the Washington Huskies. For now, the Cougs just need to keep riding the win streak and who knows, maybe their ranking will go up a bit more. The sudden rise of this team is thanks to their quarterback Gardner Minshew. As this team continues to win close games and play quality football, Minshews Heisman trophy campaign grows a bit more. In last weeks, 31-7 win over Colorado, Minshew went 35/58, for 335 yards, and two touchdown passes. He has thrown for over 300 yards in every game this season and has gone over 400 yards five times. The mustache is riding high right now and look for the same awesome offensive numbers again this weekend.

So it will be a battle of the big cats on Saturday night and which side will claw each other better? The Cougars have the better quarterback, but the Wildcats rushing game is far superior. Minshew has yet to have a bad game this season and we know he will probably throw for over 300 yards; maybe even 400 yards. Arizona will need to have a strong start in this one because on the road this season, they tend to get shutdown in the first half and by the time they try to recover, the game is already done. Meanwhile, the Cougars are usually ready to play from kickoff on and they have had good defense the last few games. Washington State will win 38-20.
