Iowa Hawkeyes vs. Boston College Eagles

Boston College Eagles (7-5) vs Iowa Hawkeyes (7-5)

College Football: New Era Pinstripe Bowl, Wednesday December 27th, 2017, 5:15 PM ET | Yankee Stadium

Line: Iowa Hawkeyes -2.5

Over/Under: 45

Tomorrow evening we have a match up between the ACC and the Big 10 and they will be fighting for the right to take home the Pinstripe Bowl trophy.

Overall the 2017 season was disappointing for the Iowa Hawkeyes. Having only won 4 conference games this season they will look to finish the season strong in the Pinstripe Bowl tomorrow evening. However, Iowa did have one win they can be proud of this year. A blowout win over the Ohio State Buckeyes which perhaps kept the Buckeyes out of the College Football Playoffs give hope to an Iowa program going forward. This season Iowa quarterback, Nathan Stanley had a good year throwing for 2338 yards, which includes 25 touchdown passes and only 6 interceptions. For this bowl game, the Iowa Hawkeyes need to rely on their quarterback to open up the passing game, but also their star running back, Akrum Wadley to create a balance between the passing and rushing games. In order to win the Iowa Hawkeyes must find a way to slow down AJ Dillon, the Boston College running back who has scored 13 touchdowns and has rushed for 1432 yards.

The Boston College Eagles will try to salvage their season with a bowl game win tomorrow against a feisty Iowa squad. The Eagles struggled in many games this year and were unable to put up enough points to keep them in some of their games. One notable win for the Eagles was a 45-42 win over the Louisville Cardinals. Although Louisville did not have a great season, they still have one of the country’s best players, Lamar Jackson so a win for the Eagles was important. The Eagles will be relying on their run game for this bowl as they rank 24th in the nation with 224.2 rushing yards per game while their passing game ranks 115th with 162.8 yards per game. In order to win this bowl game quarterback, Anthony Brown will need to have clean game throwing the ball and avoid turnovers. Iowa will likely devote their game plan to stopping the run, so if Brown can have success threw the air then the Eagles will have a chance to finish the season strong.

Iowa Hawkeyes

(7-5) SU this season

(6-5-1) ATS this season

Both teams will bring their A game and it should be an even match-up. Because both teams like to run the ball a lot,  the team that has success throwing the ball will ultimately come out as the winner and take home the Pinstripe Bowl trophy. For that reason pick the Iowa Hawkeyes to win because they have the better quarterback who can throw the ball down the field and make the proper check downs.

Just another ACC Bag Job.... Refs always side with the higher ranked team to "protect" the league. Also, stick it to the northern teams. Happens every week. #BagJob @ACCFootball @BCFootball @Stripeit33 @khughes02 @oldbaldeagle Replay Officials = Useless #Deliverance
