Utah enters this game 2-0 and coming off of a 30-12 win over in-state rival BYU. Meanwhile, Idaho State is 1-0 and are representing the Big Sky Conference. Utah won the last matchup between these teams back in 2014 by a score of 56-14 as they went for 589 yards against the Bengals defense. The Bengals enters this game after converting 42% of their third-down attempt and went 2 for 3 on 4th down tries last game out. The Utes have been a dark horse candidate to make the College Football Playoff for some and haven’t shown much reason not to be a challenger for the National Championship yet.
Idaho State tries to end current form with a shock win
Idaho State is 1-19 SU in their last 20 games. The Bengals are coming off of 38—13 win over Western Colorado last week with Matt Struck playing the entire game and going 22-41 with 385 yards passing with four touchdowns and one interception and added one rushing touchdown as well. Tanner Conner led the Bengals receivers catching nine passes for 164 yards with a pair of touchdown catches. Idaho State went 6-5 in 2018 and struggled mightily on the road with a 2-4 away record. Although Idaho State could potentially play two quarterbacks they will most likely lean on Matt Struck for much of the game but could have Gunnar Amos get some time if the offense struggles.
