Michigan Looks For A Signature Win During Harbaugh’s Tenure
Heading into the Citrus Bowl the Michigan Wolverines are trying to capture a signature win against a top tier program. During Harbaugh’s tenure Michigan has consistently lost the big games against the big programs. They are 0-4 against Ohio State since he took over as their head coach. A win against Alabama in the Citrus Bowl will help them gain momentum towards next season and their hopes of making the college football playoffs. On the season Michigan has a very good offense and defense. The Wolverines average 33 points per game and that ranks 35th in the nation. Their defense only gives up 19.5 points per game and that is 19th best in the nation. Michigan has talent on both sides of the ball, but they need to put it together in the big games.
Alabama’s Defense Looks To Get Back On Track
Alabama’s season turned when their superstar quarterback Tua Tagovailoa sustained an ankle injury. Heading into the game against LSU Tua wasn’t fully healthy, but they gave them a tough fight. Tagovailoa’s dislocated hip subsequently ruled him out for the rest of the season. Backup Quarterback Mac Jones has played well for the Crimson Tide. He threw four touchdowns against Auburn in the Iron Bowl, but Alabama lost that game because of their defense. Their defense hasn’t been as stout this season. For most teams their rankings would be good, but at Alabama that is a disappointment. The Crimson Tide only allow 18.8 points per game and that ranks 15th in the nation. The offense has been great all season averaging 48.2 points per game which ranks 2nd in the nation.
