Penn State Nittany Lions

This week, the Nittany Lions head to Kinnick Stadium to take on fellow Big 10 team, the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Penn State is first in the Big 10 East with a record of 5-0. They are also 2-0 in their conference. The Nittany Lions are on a roll as they remain undefeated this season. They have beat teams such as the Idaho Vandals, the Buffalo Bulls, the Pittsburgh Panthers and more. Most of their wins have been blowouts, with their largest being 72 points. Last week’s game was business as usual, as they beat Purdue 35-7.

In this game, Sean Clifford completed 20 of his 29 passes, as he threw for 264 yards. He threw three touchdowns and had one interception. Noah Cain led the team in rushing with 105 yards, as the Nittany Lions ran for 201 yards. Penn State kept its impressive season going with the win over Purdue, but they will have more of a challenge with the Hawkeyes.

Iowa Hawkeyes

The Hawkeyes are looking to recover from last week’s loss against the Michigan Wolverines. The Wolverines beat the Hawkeyes 10-3.

Their loss against Michigan marks Iowa’s first loss of the season. They beat teams such as the Miami RedHawks, the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, the Iowa State Cyclones and the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders.

Nathan Stanley threw for 260 yards but completed only 23 of his 42 pass attempts. Stanley also threw three interceptions. Despite a rough game, Stanley is his way to throwing for more than 2,400 yards. This would mark his third season of doing so.

Stanley did not throw any touchdowns, but the offense as a whole did not play well. The Hawkeyes did not score in any quarters except for a field goal in the second. If the Hawkeyes want to win this game, they will need a much better performance.
