NCAA FOOTBALL PICKS Purdue Boilermakers vs. Penn State Nittany Lions

The Nittany Lions has been rolling through the first four weeks. Quarterback Sean Clifford may not be the most talked-about passer, but he is efficient. Clifford has a 185.6 passing rating (7th in the nation). It will be a surprise if Clifford struggles against the Purdue defense, and has the potential to have a massive breakout game. However, Penn State may look to run the ball down Purdude's throats. Purdue's rush defense has been poor, allowing 4.9 yards per carry on the ground. Penn State's defense; However, has been phenomenal, ranking 11th in the nation in yards allowed. Penn State's defense is only allowing 7.5 points per game, with a struggling Purdue offense, it looks to be another great game for Penn State's defense.

Purdue has been incredibly disappointing this season. Quarterback Elijah Sindelar is out for the season with a broken clavicle. Redshirt Freshman Jack Plummer will step in as he did in the Minnesota game, now as the team's Quarterback for the season. Plummer was not very efficient on the field, however, that may not be all his fault. Purdue's run game has been dreadful, only gaining 273, the second-lowest in the nation. If the Boilermakers have an upset in them, they will have to establish the run and help set up the play-action for Plummer.
