Free NCAA Football Pick Syracuse vs. Boston College

One of the more interesting games this weekend in the college football slate is the a match up in the ACC; Syracuse battles Boston College in Boston.  Both teams are coming off crushing losses and are looking to get back in the win column.

Syracuse has had a pretty good year so far; 8-3 at the moment. Currently, they are ranked #20 in the country even though they fell 7 spots in the rankings after losing badly to Notre Dame 36-3 in Yankee Stadium last week. Syracuse QB, Tommy Devito, really had a rough game against the Irish, only generating 105 yards passing while throwing two interceptions. Moe Neal led them in rushing with 74 yards and Taj Harris led the Orange in receiving with 78 yards on five catches. The Syracuse offense has been solid for the most part this year (not including last week’s performance); they are ranked 24th in total offense this year. However, their defense leaves what to be desired; they are currently ranked 95th in overall defense.

Boston College is coming off a very disappointing 22-21 loss against Florida State which resulted in them falling out of the top 25. They are currently sitting at 7-4 on the year and they have both a few solid wins (against Miami and Virginia Tech) but they also have a few bad losses (Florida State). They aren’t currently ranked in the top 50 in either total offense or total defense but they have been very solid on their home field.

In the Seminoles game, Boston College QB Anthony Brown managed 297 yards, one TD and two picks, but AJ Dillon had a good game on 116 yards and two scores. Tops in receiving was Kobay White, who had 121 yards on seven catches for the Eagles.

Free NCAA Football Prediction Syracuse Orangemen vs. Boston College Eagles

Last week’s loss for Syracuse was pretty disappointing; there is no shame in losing to Clemson but getting beaten the way they did and it not being a competitive game at all was surprising and disappointing. Syracuse had climbed all the way up to #13 in the country and with good reason. Neither team has a particularly strong defense and while Boston College is good at home and have been great against the spread against teams with winning records as of late, I think Syracuse’s offense gets back on track this week.  Look for Cuse QB, Tommy Devito to rebound and have a solid game this week.  Now Boston College’s record against the spread when facing winning teams gives me pause, I think Syracuse can easily win outright and should so I am going to take the points here.

The Pick: Syracuse +7
