NCAA FOOTBALL PICKS #6 Oklahoma Sooners vs Texas Tech Red Raiders
Welcome to this Week 5, Big 12 Conference showdown between the Texas Tech Red Raiders and the #6 Oklahoma Sooners. The Red Raiders have had a good start to the season. They had blowout wins against Montana State and UTEP. Then two weeks ago, they lost by 14 to Arizona on the road. In that game, the defense gave up two quarters of points in the second and fourth quarter. Quarterback Alan Bowman went 30 for 55, for 307 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. Good yards for Bowman, but a sloppy game. The Sooners have had three blowout wins. Two weeks ago, they beat UCLA 48-14. Quarterback Jalen Hurts went 15 for 20, for 289 yards, and three touchdowns. He also led the rushers with 14 carries, for 150 yards, and one touchdown. The Sooners will most likely get their four upset in a row this week.
The Red Raiders are hitting opponents hard right now. That’s one of the main reasons this team is off to a great start and why they are better than they were last season. This team has been awesome at getting those third down stops as well. Also, they have been great at getting those picks and just being very disruptive in the secondary. They are doing a better job at controlling games now and they have given up half as many points through the first three games this season as they did last year. The defense will be ready to contain Jalen Hurts. The offense hasn’t been what we are use to seeing and Bowman is out with a shoulder injury until Mid-November. The Red Raiders will go with Jett Duffey and Jackson Tyner at the quarterback spot and they will need to be on their game early.
The Sooners are a great football team and they have a great leader in Hurts who does it all. Hurts will try to have another big rushing game this week and hopefully get some help from his rushing depth. He will sometimes throw to the weapons he has, but the guy is just so great at running with the ball, that they just love seeing him take off. This team has played perfect so far with executing their game plan. This team is second in the nation in rushing, second in scoring offense, and they lead the nation in yards per game. This team has just dominated on offense and also their defense has just given up 14 points in each of the last two games.
NCAA Football Scores Texas Tech Red Raiders vs #6 Oklahoma Sooners
So, who will win this Big 12 showdown? The Red Raiders quarterbacks will try some different things out and some of it will work. However, by the time they get in sync with their receivers, the game will be done. The Sooners will have a huge first half, like they usually do, and then just kind of cruise from there in the second half. Texas Tech will try it’s very best to keep up with the Oklahoma offense, but the levels are just too separated. Plus, the Red Raiders won’t have their starting quarterback and the offense was starting to hit a little snag before the injury. The Sooners defense is slightly above average and will be able to make the stops, and dominate the game from the start. Sooners win 56-14.
