Utah Utes (11-2) vs Texas Longhorns (7-5)
NCAA Football: Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at 7:30 PM at Alamodome
Spread: Utah Utes (-7), Texas Longhorns (+7)
Utah Looks To Finish Season Strong
The Utah Utes are looking to close out their season on a high note, coming into this game they have amass an impressive record of 11-2 and they finished the regular season ranked as the 11th best team in the nation. The Utes had a chance to make the College Football playoff, but they came up short against Oregon in the Pac 12 conference championship game. A win against Oregon would have built up Utah’s resume because they entered the conference championship weekend ranked as the 5th best team and losing to Oregon also cost them a chance to play in one of the New Year’s six bowl games. Utah’s offense and defense are very good. Their offense averages 34 points per game and that ranks 26th in the nation. The Utes defense gives up a meagre 13 points per game and that ranks 4th best in the nation. Utah will be highly motivated to finish off their impressive season on a high note by winning the Alamo Bowl.
Texas Wrapping Up Another Disappointing Season
Heading into this season Texas had high expectations. However, they have had another disappointing season. This program was once a powerhouse that used to win a lot, but in recent years they have regressed considerably. Texas has a very good offense, but their defense isn’t good. On offense they average 35 points per game and that ranks 18th in the nation. On the defensive end they give up 28.9 points per game and that ranks 75th best in the nation. Quarterback Sam Ehlinger threw for 3,462 yards with 29 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. Texas will be looking to close out their season on a high note.

Free NCAA Football Pick
Both teams should be highly motivated to close out their season on a good note. Utah has a very good team that could have made the playoffs or a New Years six bowl game. Both offenses average around the same amount of points, however Utah has a considerably better defense. In this game I expect Utah to have an easy time scoring because of Texas bad defense. Utah’s defense should be able to stop Texas offense in key parts of the game. A win in this game will send Utah’s seniors out with a win and that is another factor why I believe Utah will win this game. I expect this game to be high scoring so I will take the OVER. The Utes will cover the spread. Utah 40. Texas 28.
