Free ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 Picks England vs. Bangladesh

England host Bangladesh at the Sophia Gardens on Saturday in the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup. England’s loss to Pakistan was unexpected but they face a confident team who’ll look to put the host under pressure – Bangladesh won their opening match against South Africa and nearly got past New Zealand as well. Mortaza’s side are on the course of making it three consecutive wins in the World Cup matches. The Tigers would be desperate for a win knowing that a win here would surely increase their chances of reaching the semi-finals. England might be the best ODI side as of now but World Cup is different to a bilateral series, having said that they not shown any signs of being under pressure nor they have been at their best in the previous match.

Eoin Morgan’s side have been batting heavy and it was Jos Buttler who looked like making it two in a row for England – but that wasn’t the case, just after reaching a century he got out to Amir. England’s weakness will be exploited if their batsman can’t tackle spin, Bairstow and Joy both have got out to spin in their first two games – Bangladesh have variety in their spin bowling line up which consists of – Shakib, Mehidy Hassan, Modasek and Mahmudullah and they’ll use it as in the first ten overs to strike early. England will be need to be at their best, having lost in the Champions Trophy 2017 at the same ground. The bowling line up should not be a concern for England, but they’ll look to make a change considering Bangladesh would prefer playing spin in this case Rashid might sit on the bench for this one.

Bangladesh bowlers will need wickets in middle over if they’re win against an excellent batting unit. Batting second will be their preference if they win the toss knowing the English batsman came to close to chasing 349 runs and they bat deep. The Tigers have good memories playing at Cardiff having won against Australia in 2005, they’ll get all the support they need from their fans who have made their presence felt in both of their matches. Ten years from that famous win they beat England in the 2015 World Cup at Adelaide, another massive confidence booster for Bangladesh. Tamim Iqbal needs some runs under his belt and if their top order can fire at the top then it should be game on! Mustafizur is a key bowler for the Tigers – now matter if it’s the first or second innings his death bowling brings a different dimension to their bowling line up. Mortaza’s captaincy has been proactive until now and he’ll need to make right decision for his side.
