Valspar Championship

Before you set your PGA lineups on DraftKings, you need to take a look at our solid plays of the week. If you had taken our advice and created a team from our picks, you could have had a decent week last week.

We were all over Justin Thomas even at the $11,500 price range. I that he ended up losing in a playoff but he did throw in an eagle on the 18th hole and gave a second-place finish. We were also on Tony Finau at $8,500 price point. Finau came solo 27 with 72 fantasy points. We also loved Pat Perez in the bottom brags, and he was in the mix on Sunday.

Critical factors in filling out your lineup this week are strokes gained everywhere. Seriously though, strokes gained on approach, and short game will be necessary, and our picks will focus on players that rank well in those categories.

Sergio Garcia ($10,900) – Sergio was close last week with a solo seventh finish. He is striking the ball in almost perfect fashion. The lower tier players in the field this week are good enough to spend money to get Garcia on your team.

Paul Casey ($9,800) – Need a strong finish? Casey is your guy. I know $9,800 is kind of high but you’re going to get weekend points from Casey, and out of the seven events, he has cracked the top 10 three times.

Ryan Moore ($9,100) – Just two weeks ago Moore was only $6,900, and we loved him at that price. This week he is $9,100, and we love him just as much. He is a good ball striker and should have a good tournament.

Should consider: Henrik Stenson ($10,200) and Justin Rose ($10,000)

MIDDLE MAGIC: $8.9K – $7.6K

Branden Grace ($8,600) – A perfect 12/12 on made cuts this year. Which means he will miss the cut this week. But, we hope not, Grace has been solid all year, and it’s time to throw in another top 10.

Kevin Na ($8,000) – The last action from Na was at the Genesis Open where he came in solo second and produced 102.0 fantasy points. Before that, he finished solo 20 at Pebble Beach. Na is playing good golf at the moment. Ride him when he’s hot.

Luke List ($7,800) – List is another golfer we are going to ride while he is hot. He finished second at The Honda Classic after 66-66 rounds on Friday and Saturday. List should have a little more in the tank this week.

Should consider: Patrick Reed ($7,700) and Jason Kokrak ($7,700)

Steve Stricker ($7,500) – The putting machine, Steve Stricker is coming off a win, and we couldn’t be happier for him. He doesn’t play much on the PGA but when he does it is pretty much a made cut.

Kevin Streelman ($7,500) – Another golfer that is perfect on made cuts this year. Streelman is a perfect 10/10 and had a solo six finish. He should have a solid week where he ranks pretty high on strokes gained approach and strokes gained short game.

Brandt Snedeker ($7,500) – The most obvious play of the tournament. Brandt Snedeker only at $7,500! Put him in every lineup you have.

Should consider: Chesson Hadley ($7,400) and John Huh ($7,300)
