The Diamondbacks have pulled within 2 1/2 games of the second wild-card spot in the National League. Arizona has won the past four meetings between these teams including a come from behind win on Monday night. Colorado struggled with runners in scoring position going 2-12 and stranding 9 runners on base. The Rockies had their lead cut to 8-6 in the season series against their division foe. The Diamondbacks was also wasteful on the base path getting picked off twice.
Arizona looks to make a run at a wild-card spot
Arizona is 6-3 SU in their last 9 games and is also 16-14 in their last 30 games. The Diamondbacks are sending Zac Gallen who was acquired from the Marlins before the trade deadline to the mound who is 2-2 in his last four starts but has just a 1.11 ERA in those starts. Gallen hasn’t had much run support from either of his teams getting just 3.25 runs per game of support. Arizona has scored the second-most runs away from home and is third in home runs.
