The regular season is over and the Wild Card Round just ended, now it’s time for the Divisional Series round. The Atlanta Braves and the St Louis Cardinals have won their respective divisions and now they square off in the first round of the playoffs. The two teams meet tonight in Atlanta, who’s taking Game 1?

The Cardinals had a rough first half of the season going on a five-games losing streak, a four-games losing streak and three three-games losing streak. However, they quickly figured things out dominating in the second half of the season and clinched the NL Central, finishing ahead of the Milwaukee Brewers and eliminating the Chicago Cubs. Since the All Star Break the St Louis Cardinals are 47-27 record and a total of 371 runs scored per contest. Paul Goldschmidt leads the offense with 155 hits, 97 RBI and 34 home runs, while 2019 All Star Paul DeJong and Kolten Wong have combined for 272 hits, 137 RBI and 41 home runs. Miles Mikolas will get start Game 1 tonight. Mikolas has a 9-14 record this season with a 4.16 ERA and 144 strikeouts, and has a losing 1-2 career record against Milwaukee with a 2.61 ERA and 16 strikeouts. The Cardinals need him to step up his game if they want to start the series with a huge road win tonight.

The Atlanta Braves will play tonight in their fifteenth National League Division Series and for the second time against the St Louis Cardinals. The Braves had a strong first half of the season topped by an eight-games winning streak, but had an even better second half, as they finished with 43-28 record and a total of 364 runs scored since the All Star Break. Ozzie Albies leads the team with 189 hits, 86 RBI and 24 home runs, while the All Star duo Ronald Acuna Jr. and Freddie Freeman has combined for 341 hits, 222 RBI and 79 home runs. Dallas Kuechel will be on the mound tonight. Keuchel has a 8-8 record this season with a 3.75 ERA and 71 strikeouts and he has a bad 0-2 career record against the Cardinals with a 10.03 ERA and 15 strikeouts.
