MLB Picks Chicago Cubs vs Cincinnati Reds
Happy hump day readers! It is a beautiful day here on the east coast as we move into the end of the week. Baseball has seen some rough weather this week with a lot of cancellations. There is a good matchup out in Cincy tonight featuring one of the hottest teams in baseball. Chicago is on fire right now and look to keep it up tonight.
The Chicago Cubs are a team that can only be described one way right now, en fuego. The hottest team in baseball over the last few weeks their lineup continues to rake. Chicago has been headlined by a reemergence of Kris Bryant this season. The former MVP has an impressive .406 OBP with an OPS of .942 over 38 games. These are elite numbers, especially when factoring in Bryants glove at 3rd. Look for Bryant to lead the charge again tonight for this offense.
Yu Darvish is on the bump for the Cubbies tonight. Looking to work out his kinks in this one as Darvish has greatly struggled this year. Over 36.2 innings this year he has a 5.2 ERA. This is accompanied by 1.718 WHIP, yikes. Darvish is a pitcher that cannot be trusted at this point in the year and that has to be accounted for.
The Reds are a bottom tier offense in the NL ranking 11th out of 15 in runs scored. Also this is paired with the worst NL batting average for a team and the third worst OPS. The Reds lineup is being switched frequently as they add young talent. However their lineup is not talented enough yet to bank on them putting runs on the board.
Sonny Gray is the pitcher tonight for this Reds ball club. Over the course of 39 innings he has a 4.15 ERA so far this season. The predictive numbers for Gray tell a different story however. His FIP is a low 2.98 meaning that he is pitching for better than his ERA suggests. Gray has pitched well this year, but against a Cubs lineup tonight it is tough to predict success.

FanDuel Pick Chicago Cubs vs Cincinnati Reds
Chicago is the team to beat right now especially in this division. Yu Darvish is not a guy that you deserving of a lot of trust right now. But this Reds lineup just is not that scary. Darvish has nasty stuff and should look to turn it around tonight with a win.
