Chicago Cubs (64-54) at Philadelphia Phillies (60-58)
MLB Baseball: Tuesday, August 13, 2019 7:05 PM EST (Citizens Bank Park)
Line & Odds: Cubs (+120), Phillies (-140) - Over/Under 10
The second series between the Cubs and Phillies kicks off Tuesday night at Citizens Bank Park.
These two squads have not faced off since they split a four-game series back in May in Chicago. The Cubs have struggled on the road, posting a 23-35 record which is second-worst in the National League. Despite the hardships away from Wrigley, Chicago leads second place St. Louis by two games in the extremely competitive NL Central. The Cubs are 7-3 in the last 10 games.
Chicago's last series was split 2-2 against division rival Cincinnati. It was a disappointing result for a team trying to pull away and secure a playoff spot. The team's 4.80 ERA on the road has been the main cause of its away struggles this season.
The Phillies come into the series with a 34-26 record at home. They are just 3-7 in its last 10 games. However, five of those losses came from games played on the road. Philadelphia's starting pitching has a 4.57 ERA and 1.38 WHIP at home. Philadelphia sits nine games back of first place Atlanta in the NL East. The team is two games out of the second Wild Card spot, trailing the Mets, Brewers, and Cardinals.
