MLB Draftkings Picks Cincinnati Reds vs LA Dodgers
The Cincinnati Reds have gone 4-6 in their last 10 games and those 3 out of the 4 wins were a home series against the Miami Marlins. Sitting at 5-11 on the season the Reds need to make some serious adjustments today if they want a win against the Dodgers. Unlike the Reds who are last in the NL Central, the Dodgers are sitting 2nd in the NL West with a record of 11-8. Their last two games have been against the Reds with the first game coming down to a Walkoff by the Dodgers by a score of 4-3. The second wasn’t even close and the final outcome was in favor of the Dodgers by a score of 6-1.
With last season being a huge disappointment for the Reds in terms of batting they looked to right the ship this year. Unfortunately the batting woes have continued this year where they rank 26th overall out of the 30 MLB teams. What were thought to be some of their keys hitter coming into the season have yet to deliver. Players such as Joey Votto is batting at .241, it only gets worse from there where Matt Kemp and Yasiel Puig are batting below .200. This has been a constant problem for the Reds this year and I don’t see this changing this year.
Unlike Cincinnati’s offense the pitching for the Reds has been great this year where they currently rank 8th in the league. As a team they are currently averaging a 3.49 ERA because of strong pitching performances by their starters. Players like Robert Stephenson have played in 6 games this season with 9 innings pitched and is averaging an ERA of 0.96. The Reds pitching staff has 6 players in their rotation below a 2.6 ERA. Typically teams with strong pitching will also have a strong record to show for it. Until the Reds have some offensive production their record will not improve.
The Dodgers offense has been explosive this season where they are 2nd overall in the MLB where they have brought in 119 Runs. LA is one of the most feared teams in baseball where they hit their 37th home run yesterday against the Reds. With strong hitting performances from Cody Bellinger, Alex Verdugo, Enrique Hernandez, and Justin Turner who are all batting over .300 on the season. It’s not hard to see why they are one of the best teams offensively in the league.
The Dodgers pitching is solid, where they currently rank 13th in the MLB. Considering how well their batting is, their pitching staff is allowed to give up runs and still can rely on their bats to get them out of a jam. They have an ERA of 4.22 which is far below the league average. With 8 pitchers currently averaging under 3 runs a game the Dodgers are a very strong team both defensively and offensively.

On the mound for the Reds is Sonny Gray who is 0-2 on the season while putting up a 2.02 ERA. The opposing pitcher is Walker Buehler who is 1-0 but is averaging a 8.25 ERA. Even though Buehler has a higher ERA the Dodgers offense will provide a spark against while the Reds offense has been abysmal this season. The Dodgers will win this game and win the series 3-0.
