Line and Odds: Colorado Rockies ( -1.5 )-Over/Under: 14.5
This Monday National League West Doubleheader saw a neat dominance by the visitors. The Giants won both games scoring a total of 21 runs and allowing just three, with Colorado that never had a real chance or held a lead in either game. These two wins could have a huge impact on this year’s postseason as the Giants are getting closer to the Wild card Spot and dragging the Rockies down in the standings. Colorado needs to react and avoid another tough home loss, but San Francisco looks unstoppable right now. Who is taking Game 3?
After a tough first half of the season that saw the Giants going on multiple losing streaks, it looks like the team is finally figuring things out. They have won ten of the last twelve games and they have scored 96 runs over this stretch. Kevin Pillar leads the team with 85 hits, 50 RBI and 12 home runs. Brandon Belt, Brandon Crawford, Evan Longoria and Joe Panik have been scoring consistently too combing for 277 hits, 137 RBI and 46 home runs. Drew Pomeranz is starting tonight. He has struggled this season with a 2-9 record topped by a 6.42 ERA and 80 strikeouts, but he has a solid 2-1 career record against the Rockies with a 2.25 ERA and 34 strikeouts. The Giants are in great shape and they could be poised for a fourth consecutive win tonight.
