The Colorado Rockies will give the ball to German Marquez who has been the best starter for them this season leading the pitching staff in ERA, wins, and strikeouts. Marquez is eighth in the NL in strikeouts and second in innings pitched and sixth in wins. Marquez has been great on the road going 2-1 with a 1.55 ERA and has 29 strikeouts in 29 innings pitched. Nolan Arenado who is 5th in RBI and runs and is 10th in batting at .317 this year. The Rockies have been great against lefties this season scoring the most runs in the majors and has the most home runs against left-handed pitching. Arenado and Trevor Story have led the way against lefties with both sitting in the top 3 in runs scored and both sit in the top 10 in hits against left-handed pitching.
The Boston Red Sox will give Eduardo Rodriguez the start in hopes of rebounding from having their five-game win streak snapped. Rodriguez has found his form going 4-0 with a 2.92 ERA in his last six starts including a seven-inning performance where he didn’t allow a run and struck out five his last time out. The Red Sox have had success against right-handed pitching and has the second-best on-base percentage while going 18-12 against righties. Rodriguez has yet to suffer a defeat at Fenway this season as he has gone 3-0 with 2.59 ERA and opponents have hit just .193 batting average against him.

Boston is 12-5 SU in their last 17 games against an opponent in the National League.
This will be the second game of a four-game season series as Colorado took the first game in extra innings on Tuesday. This should be a good pitching matchup as both have had a great start the season. Colorado has gone 6-4 in their last ten games while Boston has gone 8-2 and the Sox have gone 3-1 at home in their last four. Look for Rafael Devers to lead Boston’s offense as he has hit .412 at Fenway and has 15 of his 22 RBIs at home. Marquez will be needed to pitch deep into this game as the Rockies needed to use five relievers in their 11-inning victory last night. Boston should do enough to get the win behind Rodriguez with Boston being great against right-handed pitching and being a good bet to rebound from their loss with a big night at the plate.
