The Chicago White Sox and the Texas Rangers wrap up a 4 game series today in the windy city. The White Sox have taken 2 of the first 3 games of the series, but it was the Rangers who were victorious last night, beating Chicago 4-0. Both teams still firmly sit outside of a playoff spot. The White Sox are 19 games out in the AL Central while the Rangers currently sit 20 games out in the AL West. With that being said, the Rangers recently recalled rookie pitcher Brock Burke from AAA to see how he will fair at the big league level. Burke was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2014 MLB first year player draft by the Tampa Bay Rays. He was acquired by Texas in a trade last December which was a three team deal between the Rangers, Athletics, and Rays. This will be Burke’s second career start. His first came five days ago versus the Angels where he went 6 innings allowed 4 hits, no runs, and had 4 strikeouts. On the hill for the White Sox will be right-hander Reynaldo López. López has gone 7-11 with a 5.25 ERA and 132 strikeouts across 147.1 innings pitched this season. He has been much better as of late, going 3-3 with a 3.53 ERA over his last 7 starts.
