Moneyline: Philadelphia Phillies (+120), Arizona Diamondbacks (-130)
The Philadelphia Phillies take on the Arizona Diamondbacks tonight in the rubber game of a crucial 3-game series with Wild Card implications. Philadelphia sits in the 2nd Wild Card with 8 weeks left in the season. They hope to end their 8 year playoff drought then, but the Diamondbacks are one of a host of teams trying to play spoiler and sneak in themselves. Arizona sits 2.5 games behind after bouncing back to take the second game in this series 8-4.
The Diamondbacks got a win in newly acquired Mike Leake's first start as a Diamondback last night, and they hope to follow that up tonight with a win in Zac Gallen's first start as a Diamondback. The-24-year-old was acquired last week from the Marlins for Arizona's top prospect, SS Jazz Chisholm. Philadelphia will also send a newly acquired pitcher, Jason Vargas, to the mound in his second start with the Phillies after the Mets traded him within the division. Keep reading to see why you should bet against the pitchers in tonight's game and take the OVER.
