Team Outlooks

These teams are heading in two different directions. The Angels lost superstar Mike Trout for the season, and their already eliminated from the playoffs. The best part of the Angels season was locking up Trout long-term. However, the Angels need a serious roster overhaul. Starting pitching is a must find this offseason along with some reliable bullpen arms. Don't be surprised if the Angels are in hot pursuit of ace Gerrit Cole. The Angels can't waste any more time. They need to win now.

What a season by the Houston Astros. They comfortably won 100 games this season. Their team is loaded with stars in every position. Justin Verlander, Gerrit Cole, and Zack Greinke is the best trio in the MLB. Their offense includes budding star Yordan Alvarez, veterans Michael Brantley and Jose Altuve, and a number of other key contributors like George Springer. This team is built for a deep October run.

Los Angeles Angels

It's a lost season for the Angels. Aside from signing a couple of veteran starters (Matt Harvey, Trevor Cahill), the Angels team remained relatively the same. They got the same result as the last couple of seasons. Another season with no playoffs. Tommy La Stella enjoyed a breakout season before a leg injury cost him. David Fletcher is a hitting machine, and could be a long-term player. Other than that, the Angels offense didn't have anything special. Hopefully, next season, Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout can lead the Halos back to the playoffs.
