FanDuel MLB Picks Los Angeles Angels vs Texas Rangers
It is hump day everybody. Wednesday is here and the weekend is right around the corner. After a dud last night the Angels look to get a win on the road against Texas today. The Angels were shut out last night as Mike Minor threw a complete game. Bouncing back after a loss is crucial for morale especially early in the season. Let’s take a deeper look into the matchup tonight.
Los Angeles Angels
The Angels offense has gotten off to a slow start this year. They rank outside the top ten in the AL in most categories. These categories include runs, batting average, and OPS. Having poor statistics in those areas tends to lead to losses. This slow start is made significantly worse by the simple fact Mike Trout is on the roster. Trout has been the best player in baseball for almost a decade and has been this year as well. With an OPS of 1.385 through 14 games the Angels offense receives a substantial boost from his numbers. The pieces surrounding Trout have disappointed once again at least at this point in 2019.
Matt Harvey is on the mound tonight to the detriment of the Angels. Harvey has struggled this year, pitching 14.1 innings and allowing 16 runs. He has also been a troubled character throughout his MLB career. This offseason he joined his 3rd team in 2 years moving to LA. Harvey is not off to a hot start and on the road tonight faces a hot Texas lineup. Expect a lot of crooked numbers again tonight.
The Rangers are a red hot offense the last few games. They have scored at least 5 runs in their last five games. Texas ranks in the top 5 in the AL in both homers and OPS. They are a team that can hit the ball out of the ballpark and they have done that often. So far in 2019 they have hit 23 home runs in 16 games. Expect a few more bombs, especially against Harvey, tonight.
Lance Lynn is toeing the rubber tonight as Texas goes for the sweep against the Angels. Lynn has had a lackluster start to the year but that is kind of what you expect. He is an older pitcher that pretty much only throws fastballs. Lynn threw his fastball 77% of the time in 2018 and isn’t known to fool many people. The goal for Lynn is to eat as many innings as possible this year. With a hot Texas offense working for him a solid start should be enough to grab a win.

LA Angels are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games
The total has gone UNDER in 12 of LA Angels’s last 17 games

FanDuel Pick Los Angeles Angels vs Texas Rangers
Texas is a hot offense and the Angels are featuring a struggling pitcher in Matt Harvey. The offense for the Rangers should be able to put some runs on the board in droves. As long as Lance Lynn can work the thin Angels lineup the Rangers are in good shape.
