The first game of the postseason is all set. In this National League Wild Card matchup, the Brewers and Nationals will battle it out to advance to the divisional round. Both teams have been red hot over the past month, but the Brewers did drop all 3 games in their last series against the Rockies. Milwaukee leads the season series 4-2 over Washington.

On the mound for Milwaukee is Brandon Woodruff. He hasn't been off the IL long, but he's been great since. It's only been over 4 total innings in 2 starts, but the numbers don't lie. He allowed 0 hits and struck out 7. Before he injured himself for the second time this year, he was throwing for a 4.78 ERA in June, and a 3.45 ERA in July. He didn't pitch in August, and hasn't seen the Nationals yet this year. However, he has fantastic career averages against them. With a 2.04 FIP and a .229 average against Washington, Woodruff won't be out of his comfort zone as much as you might think, despite him being fresh off the IL and a lack of playoff pitching under his belt.
