This series is going to be something, that's for sure. Facing off are two of the best slugging teams we've seen in the last decade, and there's no reason to believe we aren't going to see more of it here in the playoffs. The Yankees lead the season series 4-2, and the average runs scored from each of those games was 13.5.


For Minnesota, Jose Berrios will be the first starter sent into battle. He's had a solid, but disappointing season. It was expected of him to make the jump from good to great, but in fact the numbers this year lean to him being worse in most areas. A 14-8 record and a 3.68 ERA is nothing to scoff at, but he's not an elite pitcher yet. Things don't get better for him in this matchup. In his career against the Yankees, he's posted a 6.02 FIP, with a .413 wOBA. August was the worst month he's put together so far in his career, with a 7.57 ERA. He toned it down in September, with a 4.31 ERA, but that's still not going to be good enough to get the win tonight.
