Minnesota Twins (74-48) vs. Texas Rangers (60-62)

August 17th at 8:05 ET (Globe Life Park)

ML: Minnesota Twins (-160) Texas Rangers (+150)

RL: Minnesota Twins (-1.5) Texas Rangers (+1.5) O/U: 11.5

It was a back and forth affair between the two teams on Friday night. The Twins won a tight game by the score of 4-3. Minnesota's runs came courtesy of two 2-run homers by Max Kepler and Jonathan Scoop. As a team that lives by the long ball, it wasn't much of a surprise that the Twins runs were by homers. For the home team, their runs came from a wild pitch and a two-run double. The Twins have already won the first two games this series, and will look to claim the series win tonight.

For the pitching last night, both starters posted quality starts. Twins starter Jake Odorizzi (5.2 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 5 SO) pitched well, and he gave the Twins a chance to win the whole time he was in. Rangers starter Mike Minor (7.0 IP, 8 H, 3 ER, BB, 5 SO) continues to be a workhorse. He pitched very well, but ran into some tough luck when Roughned Odor dropped a popup. Minor eventually gave up a two-run homer that would end up being the game-winning homer. Minor is still pitching like an ace, and he turned in another solid start. For tonight't match-up, it will be Jose Berrios against Ariel Jurado.

Minnesota Twins

Max Kepler blasted his 33rd home run on the season. That leads the team. He continues to be one of several breakout players for the Twins. Jonathan Schoop smashed his 17th homer as well last night. The Twins got a bargain deal in Schoop, who signed a one-year contract last offseason. He will definitely be able to lock in a better contract this offseason. The Twins offense continues to be the best team when it comes to crushing homers.
