The first-place Yankees will look to avoid their first back to back skid since early August on Tuesday night against an Athletics team that is attempting to catch the Rays for the second wildcard spot in the AL. Both teams have been very good over the last month, with the Yank's going 16-4 and the A's going 13-7. New York will look to improve their road record as the Athletics will fight to continue their dominance at home in a windy game in Oakland.

Red Hot Yankees Look to Continue Impressive Streak

The Yankees have been terrorizing their opponents as of late, and over their last 10 wins their margin of victory has been a touch under four runs per game. Even though they have been much better at home than on the road this season, New York has still been putting up a lot of runs in both situations. They're currently the second-best home run hitting team in the 2019 season and the first ranked team for RBI's. They've also hit the over in 11 of their last 14 road games and 14 of their last 20 overall. Their offense has powered them to an incredible record this season, and I'd expect nothing less than the same Tuesday night against the A's.

Pitching for the Yankees Tuesday night is Domingo German, who has an incredible record of 16-2 over the season. He is on quite the tear right now too, with four wins in his last four starts and seven wins in his last eight. In that span of games he has only given up more than three ER once (which led to his no decision), and is averaging just under 7 IP per game. He does tend to allow more ER in away games though, with 37 on the road this season compared to 14 at home. Domingo also has a lone start against the A's in his career in which he gave up 6 ER in 5 IP. He will be looking to continue his impressive year tonight against an Athletics team that he has struggled with in the past.

Can Athletics Continue to Dominate Yankees at Home?

Oakland are 6-1 against the Yankees in their last seven meetings at Ring Central Coliseum, which is quite an impressive feat. In their last 10 against New York, the A's have outscored them 5.1 to 4.6, and the over under is 6-4 in that same span. When looking at Oaklands last 10 games this season they're averaging just over four runs per game and have a 6-4 record in that span as well. However, they will be facing the Yankees clear cut ace Tuesday night and will need to score more than four if they want any hope of defeating the high powered offense of New York.
