In a somewhat exciting game last night, the Pirates beat the Giants 6-4. Things were looking dire for Pittsburgh heading into the 9th inning, with them trailing 4-2. However, a late 4 run rally ended up getting them the win.

Pirates

After missing most of their starting lineup yesterday, the Pirates will be close to full strength this evening. Mitch Keller will be on the mound to get things started, and he'll definitely be looking to iron his pitching out. Amidst a tumultuous rookie season, he's sitting at 1-3 with a 8.18 ERA. With him only being 23 though, and the Pirate's season already being all but over, there's not much pressure. Something interesting to note though, is his FIP to ERA differential. It's -4.48, the biggest I have ever seen. Despite some of his other horrible statistics, his FIP is all the way down at 3.70. This is because of his phenomenal strikeout rate, along with low walk and home run numbers. His only true issue right now, is hits. He needs to allow far less contact, and this is something I'm sure he'll get around to doing. Over his last two seasons in the minors, he gave up a respectable 8.2 hits per 9 innings.
