This will be the first of four games between these teams and the Astros are 12-1 in the 13 games played between these teams so far this season. Seattle has struggled against all of the AL West as they are 25-41 within their division. Meanwhile, the Astros are 42-15 against AL West competition and is 23-2 at home in divisional games. Seattle will continue to be without one of their best hitters in Domingo Santana as he is still recovering from an elbow injury which landed him on the injured list.
The Mariners look to turn around recent form

The Mariners haven’t had much luck in Gonzales starts this year as they are just 15-14 in his 29 starts. Seattle’s offense has given Gonzales 4.83 runs per start of support. Seattle has been terrible on the road with a 5.32 ERA and has only a 51.85% save percentage away from home. The Mariners only scored 105 in the month of August which is 29th in majors.
