Free MLB Pick St. Louis Cardinals vs Cincinnati Reds
Through two games in this series, it's all knotted up at one win a piece. Completely contrasting the first game, in the second we saw plenty of runs, as the Cardinals routed the Reds 13-4. Cincinnati's ace, Luis Castillo, got rocked early on and was responsible for 8 runs through his 4.1 innings pitched. St. Louis would go on to homer 4 times by the end of the night, something they've only managed to pull off twice since the all star break. The winner of tonight's game will secure at least a tie in this series, with the final game being played tomorrow.
On the mound for St. Louis this evening will be Miles Mikolas. Sitting a top a 7-12 record and a 4.13 ERA, he is still searching for the success he saw last season. Having pitched to an 18-4 record as well as a 2.83 ERA a year ago, he's quite obviously not the same, despite him being just 30 years old. It looked like he might be getting back on track after putting up a 2.93 ERA in July, but through his last two games, he's struggled. Against the Pirates a week ago, he gave up 6 runs on 7 hits through 5 innings.
