Free MLB Pick St. Louis Cardinals vs Cincinnati Reds
This afternoon will mark the end of a 4 game face off, as the Reds, up 2-1, look to walk away with a victory that would secure a series win. The Cardinals on the other hand need to tie it up, so they can hold onto the narrowest of leads in the NL Central. The good news for them is that they will come into this game as heavy favorites, something we haven't seen yet in this series. Yesterday the Reds beat the Cardinals 6-1, and Aristides Aquino hit his 11th home run in 17 games. St. Louis was favored to win, but Miles Mikolas couldn't get out of a jam with 2 outs in the bottom of the fifth, so he was stuck with the loss.
Jack Flaherty will be making his 25th start of the season for the Cardinals, and is hoping to improve his record of 6-6. He's currently posting a 1.1 WHIP, along with a 3.52 ERA, and a 2.9 WAR. He's allowed 107 hits through 135 innings, with 157 strikeouts. Those are relatively elite numbers compared to the rest of the league, but Flaherty just hasn't had the run support to get more wins.
