The Texas Rangers tried to make their comeback against the
Oakland A’s, but couldn’t finish the job, losing 4-5. Danny Santana tried to
light a spark for the Rangers with a 2-RBI triple, but they couldn’t pull off
the win. Pitching today for the Rangers is Pedro Payano, who is 1-0 on the
mound this year, with an ERA of 1.5.
The Oakland A’s wouldn’t lose to the Texas Rangers again,
winning yesterday’s game 5-4. Mark Canha earned the A’s first run of the day with
a home run in the bottom of the 2nd. Marcus Semien followed Mark
Canha’s home run with a home run of his own in the bottom of the 3rd.
Matt Chapman kept extending the A’s lead with a 2-run home run in the bottom of
the 5th. Ramón Laureano earned the eventual winning run with a home
run in the bottom of the 6th. Pitching for the A’s today is Mike Fiers, who
is 9-3 on the mound this year, with an ERA of 3.57.
