Since May 24th, the Washington Nationals have gone 82-40. The Astros have gone 81-41. The Nationals are coming off of 6 days of rest, while the Astros only had 2. That's the situation. Now, how did we get here?

Washington first played in the NL Wild-Card game against Milwaukee, and came away with a must-see victory for the ages. Since then, their momentum hasn't stopped. In the NLDS, they took down the Los Angeles Dodgers, the favorites to win the NL, in unbelievable fashion yet again. The NLCS was a different story. The Nationals dominated it from start to finish, sweeping the Cardinals, with an average margin of victory of 3.5 runs.

Houston's story hasn't been quite as exciting, especially given that they already went down that path in 2017. Now, they're the definition of consistency. However, Tampa Bay took them the distance in the ALDS, and Houston's home field advantage might've been the deciding factor. They then squared off against the New York Yankees in the ALCS, and toppled them in 6 games. Jose Altuve sent them packing with a walk off home run three nights ago.

Enough of the past, all that matters now is the present. Houston comes into this game as a massive favorite to win, but with a future Hall of Famer on the mound for Washington, do the odds really add up?
