Washington Nationals vs. San Francisco Giants

Washington Nationals (60-53) vs. San Francisco Giants (56-58)

August 7th at 3:45 ET (Oracle Park)

ML: Washington Nationals (-105) San Francisco Giants (-105)

RL: Washington Nationals (-1.5) San Francisco Giants (+1.5) O/U: 9

The Nationals have already won the series after a 5-3 win yesterday. They continue to perform well on the road. Nats starter Anibal Samchez continued his career dominance of the Giants. He pitched 6 innings allowing two runs (1 ER) while striking out three and allowing only one walk. C Kurt Suzuki had a big game going 3-4 with a HR. That's the kind of production the team needs from its other offensive players. For the Giants, their rookie Conner Menez struggled, giving up five runs. Their offense scored three runs, but it wasn't enough as the Giants lose a key series at home.

The Giants will send another rookie in Shaun Anderson tonight in hopes of salvaging the series. Joe Ross will be starting his 3rd game of the season for the Nationals as they look to close out a series sweep while pulling themselves away in the Wild Card race. The Nationals are currently up 1.0 games for the 1st Wild Card spot.

Washington Nationals

The Nationals still continue their late season surge into the playoffs. After not even being in the playoff picture near the All-Star break, the Nationals have stunned many people as they are succeeding post Bryce Harper. Their bullpen was their weakest flaw. However, after some deadline moves, the bullpen had become a little more stable. Expect the Nationals to find success down the road.
