Free NBA Prediction Charlotte Hornets vs Atlanta Hawks

This will be the second of four games between the Hornets and Hawks this season. The Hawks won the first matchup 122-107 on the road on December 8th. Six players scored in double figures for the Hawks and five players scored in double figures for the Hornets. Trae Young led all scorers with 30 points adding nine assists and seven rebounds. Jabari Parker finished with 19 points, seven rebounds and two blocks and Vince Carter scored 17 points off the bench. Miles Bridges and PJ Washington scored 20 points each for the Hornets. Terry Rozier and Devonte’ Graham combined for 20 points but shot a poor 7/30 from the field.

The Hornets are coming off a 108-99 win over the Houston Rockets that snapped a three-game losing streak ending their four-game home stand with a 1-3 record. They will now be on the road for four of their next five games. They have won four of their last five road games with three wins coming against Eastern Conference opponents. Though they have also lost eight of their last 12 road games. The Hornets are 1-6 against their fellow Southeast division opponents. Terry Rozier has averaged 20 points per game in the last six games and Devonte Graham is averaging 20.6 points in his last five games.

The Hawks are currently on a three-game losing streak losing by an average margin of 20.3 points. They have, however, won five of their last seven home games. Trae Young has struggled from the field in his past six games shooting 35% from the field and 17% from three-point range. Despite this, he is averaging 24.5 points and 9.3 assists in that span. In his past 11 games, Young is averaging 29.6 points and 9.8 assists. John Collins has played well for the Hawks averaging 25.5 points and 9.8 rebounds on 61% shooting from the field and 58% from three-point range in his past eight games.

Prediction

I have the Atlanta Hawks snapping their three-game losing streak with a win tonight. I think Trae Young gets back on track and has a breakout performance tonight. If Terry Rozier and Devonte’ Graham both have great performances tonight this could be a highly competitive game that goes down to the wire but I have the Hawks winning.
