On Monday, the Charlotte Hornets put up a valiant effort in their overtime loss against the Atlanta Hawks. The Hawks ended up winning the game 143-138. The Hornets nearly had the win and had a few noteworthy performances in the process.
In the overtime loss, Hornets star guard Terry Rozier finished with a career-high 40 points, while Devonte’ Graham and Caleb Martin finished with 27 and 23 points respectively.
The Hornets beat the Houston Rockets on Saturday, which snapped their three-game losing streak. Charlotte lost to the Bucks, the Spurs, and the Nuggets (all home games), and in the final game of their homestand, got a win over a Rockets team without Russell Westbrook. Then, the Hornets traveled to Atlanta, where they lost in overtime. In the second game of their road trip, they travel to Miami to face another division rival.
The Heat remain a top-five team in the East, as they are currently fourth in the conference with a record of 41-23.
The Heat got a big win last week, as they beat the Bucks 105-89. Miami blew out the Bucks in a game where Giannis Antetokounmpo was held to 13 points and 15 rebounds. Their win over the Bucks was their third win of a four-game winning streak before losing to the New Orleans Pelicans. The bounced back from the loss with a win over the Wizards on Sunday.
Miami will be home for their next three games, and it begins with the Hornets.

For the Hornets, Terry Rozier is questionable (illness) in this game. On the other hand, Jimmy Butler is also questionable with a toe injury. So, both teams will possibly be without their best players. The Hornets were so close to beating the Hawks but could not pull it off. If the Heat are shorthanded, then the Hornets could potentially get the win. However, the Heat should get this one.
