In this late night matchup, Zach LaVine and the Chicago Bulls will travel to Los Angeles to take on Lou Williams and the Los Angeles Clippers. Chicago are coming off a home loss 123-107 to the Los Angeles Lakers and have loss four of their last five. On the other hand, the Los Angeles Clippers have been on a run, winning five of their last six. But their last outing was a home loss versus the Portland Trailblazers 125-104.

The Chicago Bulls currently sit as the third worst record in the Eastern Conference and fourth worst in the league, only two games ahead of the Cleveland Cavaliers. The primary objective of Chicago will to rebuild around their star players, Zach LaVine and Lauri Markkanen by getting into decent draft position in this year’s upcoming skill-heavy class. In Tuesday’s loss at home versus the Lakers, Robin Lopez surprisingly led the scoring with 20 points, while Otto Porter and Kris Dunn led the team with 9 rebounds and assists, respectively. Lauri Markkanen again struggled with only 11 points from 4/11 shooting. Zach LaVine, who sat out due to a right patellar strain, is listed as questionable for tonight’s contest, which will force Lauri Markkanen to shoulder another heavy load if LaVine sits out. Zach LaVine currently leads the Bulls in all statistical categories, with 23.8 PPG on 46.8 FG%, 4.6 RPG, and 4.4 APG.

The Los Angeles Clippers stand as the eighth seed in the Western conference, with only a half-game behind both the San Antonio Spurs and Utah Jazz, which adds extra incentive to this one-sided affair. The Clippers have been separating themselves from the Sacramento Kings in the standings (5 games) due to the relative consistency of Los Angeles, winning five of their last six games. They didn’t impress in their last outing, however, where they got tortured in the perimeter versus the Portland Trailblazers, snapping their five-game winning streak. Ivica Zubac, who was acquired via trade from the Lakers, led with a game-high 15 rebounds, while Montrezl Harrell scored a team-high 22 points on 8/15 shooting while posting up 11 rebounds. This doesn’t come as a surprise due to the absence of starting small forward Danilo Gallinari for rest purposes. They will attempt to get back on track in a home matchup with a inferior team, with a sixth seed spot up for grabs. Additionally, they will look to rely on Lou Williams for the offensive production, as he leads the Clippers with 20.3 PPG on 42.8 FG% and 5.3 APG, while Montrezl Harrell leads with 6.7 RPG, and will attempt once again to dominate the post for the second unit.

With LaVine listed as doubtful for the contest, Patrick Beverley, Luke Shamet, and Lou Williams should be expected to control the perimeter. The defensive strategy should be straightforward: stop Markkanen. Montrezl Harrell should carry the second unit and build an early lead, which will be difficult for the Bulls to come back from. Look for Los Angeles to dominate the game left and right on both ends of the court and cover the spread.
