After a stunning blowout in game 1, the Cavaliers will look to even the series with the Celtics before heading back to Cleveland in the Eastern Conference Finals.

It was clear early on that the Cavaliers just did not have it, after leading 7-4 in the opening minutes, the Celtics went on a 25-2 run and Cleveland never got closer than 14 points after that. LeBron James after the game said he has zero concern moving forward and we all know that one game certainly does not define a series, especially when you’re going up against the best player on the planet. For Cleveland to win game 2, they will have to be much cleaner with the ball, LeBron himself had seven of the teams ten turnovers and a career worse plus/minus of -32. The defense will also have to be better, Boston put up 60 points in the first half and shot over 50 percent for the game. It seemed like a matter of effort for the Cavaliers, the defense has been a point of issue this season, but if the offense can play like its capable of, game 2 and the series moving forward will be much more competitive.

The Celtics continue to silence the critics and prove the haters wrong, finding a will and a way to grind out each game. It wasn’t a surprise that Cleveland was the favorite heading into this game and series, much like the Sixers were in the last series, but expect Boston to be the favorite in at least a couple games now this series. The Celtics have lead 2-0 in the past two series this postseason, if they are to win game 2 on Tuesday night at the Garden, they can look to improve on their 37-0 record all-time when leading a playoff series 2-0. Boston played strong defense in game 1, keeping LeBron out of the paint for most of the game, something that seems impossible at times. They will need to be prepared to meet the adjustments that the Cavaliers are inevitably going to make for game 2, but if Boston plays the style that it has been playing for this postseason run, they will have a realistic shot of taking a commanding series lead.

While it was a surprise to see game 1 be as big of a blowout as it was, expect game 2 to be much closer. The Celtics have been consistent on offense this season and playoffs, if the Cavaliers can find their offense rhythm and LeBron puts up the numbers that he has been putting up all postseason, expect this game to hit the over.
