The Golden State Warriors will play host tonight to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Game 5 of this best of seven. No doubt, this is one of the most important games of several careers. Lebron James lives in the shadow of Michael Jordan. If he can somehow will the Cavs to a victory tonight and send the game back to Cleveland for game 6, he would take one step closer to Godliness. Kevin Durant lives in the shadow of the fans as he left OKC to join an already stellar cast of Golden State Warriors. The only logical result for him is to win the title as he set out to do. Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green have nightmares of last year as they had the Cavs against the ropes down 3-1 just to let it slip through their fingertips and lose to Lebron’s Cavs 4-3. This will definitely be one for the ages.
The Cavaliers are led by none other than Lebron James, who is averaging 32.4 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 7.8 assists per game in the playoffs. Kyrie Irving has really stepped up this year as he is averaging 25.9 points per game and has shown his takeover ability dropping 40 points on 15-27 shooting last game. The Warriors are led by Kevin Durant who is averaging 27.8 points and 8.1 rebounds per game and is shooting 55% from the field which is ridiculous. Stephen Curry is quietly right behind Durant averaging 27.7 points and 6.3 rebounds per game.

So all it took was a record breaking night for the Cleveland Cavaliers to beat the Golden State Warriors last game. Can lightning strike twice? I suppose it can but it is unlikely. Even with the offensive outburst that the Cavs had, the Warriors still put up 116 points on the road. The Warriors have been here before but something is very different. The addition of Kevin Durant was specifically for this purpose; to beat Lebron James. Last year the Warriors did not have someone who could demand the ball and take over the game and that is why they ended up losing that 3-1 lead. This year, KD combined with the desperation of the Warriors to not relive last year’s defeat will carry the Warriors past the Cavs for their second title in 3 years and Durant’s 1st championship ever. I am taking the Warriors -9. Should be another double digit victory tonight! Good luck!
