The Dallas Mavericks started the game strong against the Utah Jazz on Saturday, but couldn’t finish the game strong, losing 107-112. There was nothing memorable for the Mavericks on Saturday. Luka Dončićs earning 25 points on the night may be somewhat memorable, but considering he’s shooting on average 29 points per game, that isn’t much for him.
The Oklahoma City Thunder were able to defeat the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday with a score of 113-104. Chris Paul earned himself a double-double on the night with 25 points and 10 assists. Hamidou Diallo also earned himself a double-double on the night with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Other than those stats, the game wasn’t anything special for the Thunder.
The Mavericks are easily one of the better teams in the NBA. Except for ranking 12th in field goal percentage, 15th in assists per game, 28th in steals per game, and 18th in blocks per game, they’re in the top 10 for each category. Their 15-6 away record is also the 3rd best away record in the NBA.
The Thunder can’t be any more average even if they tried to. Apart from being 5th in field goal percentage, 23rd in rebounds per game, 26th in assists per game, and 8th in turnovers per game, the Thunder are between 10th an 20th for every category. Although their current 5-game winning streak does give them the hot hand. After their 2-game skid against the Raptors and the Heat, each win has been by at least 5 points or more.
Dallas are 5-2 SU in their last 7 games.
Dallas are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games against Oklahoma City.
The total has gone OVER in 6 of Dallas’ last 6 games played on a Monday.
The total has gone OVER in 7 of Oklahoma City’s last 9 games.
Oklahoma City are 5-0 SU in their last 5 games.
The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Oklahoma City’s last 5 games against Dallas.
Oklahoma City is hot coming off a 5-game winning streak, but their lack of star power is going to bite them. The Mavericks are the more talented team here and should be able to end the Thunders streak. Expect a high scoring close game tonight.
