The 21-9 Denver Nuggets take to the road in an early Saturday matchup against the 18-13 Los Angeles Clippers. After their red hot start and subsequent road bumps, the Denver Nuggets seem to be back on track against a surprising LA Clippers squad.

Nuggets

Denver came out of the gates blistering this season before hitting a bit of a lull about a month in. However, behind the MVP caliber play of Jokic coupled with the strong guard play of Murray and Harris, the Nuggets are once again rolling and look like one of the scariest teams the NBA has to offer. Offense has always been a stalwart for this Nuggets core and they continue that tradition this season, averaging 109 points per game. Defensively however, is where the Nuggets have made the biggest strides and why they are seeing such strong results this season. Allowing only an average of 103 points per game, their +6 point differential is good for 4th best in the league. By pairing a competent defense with their electric offense, the Nuggets have finally turned the corner and entered the NBA’s elite. On top of that, the Nugget’s core is extraordinarily young and they look poised to dominate the Western Conference for years to come.

Clippers

The Clippers have been one of the biggest surprises so far this season. With fans and pundits alike expecting a bit more of a rebuilding season, the Clippers have clawed their way to an 18-13 record behind the strong play of Tobias Harris and his supporting cast of youngsters. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander in particular has been a shining star and key contributor for the Clippers. Putting up 10/3/3 a night while playing defense beyond his years, he looks to be a key contributor for the Clippers for years to come. Despite the Clippers starting the year red-hot and having so much youthful promise, they’ve stumbled as of late, going just 3-7 through their last 10 games. Coming off a win against the upstart Mavericks, the Clippers will look to get their season back and keep momentum rolling. The Western Conference is extremely competitive and with such a young team, it is imperative that they keep themselves in contention so those young players can continue to grow.

Free NBA Prediction Los Angeles Clippers vs. Denver Nuggets

Although I know the Clippers are at home and have been a surprisingly strong team this season, the fact remains that the Nuggets are extremely well-rested and are clicking on all cylinders right now. Jokic recently posted a 35 point triple-double on perfect shooting and has been consistently putting up extraordinary numbers all season. Despite his legendary advanced metrics, Boban will not be able to slow down Jokic (and is only available for limited minutes due to his enormous size) and the Clippers don’t have much else to throw at him that will do too much. Expect the Nuggets to continue their hot streak and for the Clippers to drop a bit further down the Western Conference rankings.

Pick: Denver +2
